Liverpool has one of the brightest young stars in England, Rio Ngumoha. The 16-year-old is a left winger who has pace, skills, and is clinical in front of the goal. He made his mark in the 2025 preseason with Liverpool.

Ngumoha became a bigger star when he scored the winner in Liverpool's 3-2 win over Newcastle United . The English forward becomes the fourth youngest goalscorer in Premier League history.

He is under James Vaughan, James Milner, and Wayne Rooney . Ngumoha will turn 17 years old on August 29. He is the youngest Liverpool goalscorer in Premier League history. He is the second 16-year-old to score a winning goal in a Premier League game, after Wayne Rooney scored with Everton at 16 in 2002.

Rio Ngumoha becomes the fourth youngest scorer in Premier League history.

RioNgumoha'sEarly CareerSo Far

Rio Ngumoha was born on August 29, 2008, and is of Nigerian descent. He was born and raised in Newham, East London, to Nigerian immigrant parents, and family members remain private as the young star.

Ngumoha has represented England at the youth international level but is proud of his Nigerian heritage. He joined the Chelsea academy in 2016, when he was eight years old. The winger was one of the brightest talents in the academy, and in 2024, Liverpool managed to sign him.

Liverpool are convinced they have signed a top, super talent for the future with Rio Ngumoha.

Chelsea legend John Terry complimented Liverpool for signing Rio Ngumoha and believes he is a top talent. Terry wrote, "This boy is and will be a top top player."

He made his Liverpool senior team debut on January 11, 2025, in Round 3 of the FA Cup against Accrington, which was a 4-0 win for the Reds.

Ngumoha played in all four preseason games for Liverpool this summer. He provided an assist in Liverpool's 4-2 loss to AC Milan .

He scored in Liverpool's 3-1 win over Yokohama F. Marinos. Ngumoha scored and assisted in Liverpool's 4-1 win against Athletic Bilbao at Anfield.
