In the past month, the 2026 recruiting class has not been kind to Penn State. The Nittany Lions have struggled to land many of their top priorities from the class, and now lose a player who committed in late April as 2026 offensive lineman Roseby Lubintus flipped his commitment to attend Syracuse.

Lubintus is listed at 6-5, 350 pounds. He is rated as a three-star prospect by On3 and is ranked as the 73rd best offensive line prospect in the class of 2026. 247 sports also has him rated as a three-star, and have him ranked as the 770th best overall prospect.
Here is what Lubintus had to say on his recent change of team to Steve Wiltfong of On3 and Rivals.
"For me I feel like I rushed into it. I was searching more for a name than the right place. I was trying to find somewhere that looked the best and not feel the best."
"I realized Coach Fran, all the coaches there are the best place for me as a person, for football and the best overall."
Lubintus flipping schools was unexpected, but this is starting to become more of the norm. Players are switching schools upon initial commitment is common. And although this is a slight sting to the recruiting class of Penn State, the Lions remain in good shape.
Penn State offensive line coach Phil Trautwein has a great eye for talent. He should be able to find a replacement in the portal next year, or add another player from the class of 2026.
