Penn State Wrestling has another chance to secure one of the top recruits in the nation.
With the 2025 college season on the horizon, recruits in future classes are still making decisions on where they will wrestle at the next level.
Bo Bassett is officially on the market again, as the No. 2 ranked wrestler in the class of 2026 and No. 1 at 149 pounds, decommits from Iowa, and is open to recruitment.
Back in February, Bassett announced he would become a Hawkeye, and in his announcement about leaving, he had only positive things to say about Iowa and its support.
No bad vibes or roster issues were discussed—just Bassett remarking on the immensity of the decision and his faith in God helping him find the best place for him.
Penn State and Oklahoma State were both heavily recruiting Bassett prior to his announcement and look to continue to pursue him now that he is available again.
Further down the line, the No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2027, Melvin Miller, has narrowed down his top nine schools he would attend—including Penn State and Oklahoma State. Miller is teammates and adopted brother of Bo Bassett and Jack Forrest, who has committed to David Taylor and the Cowboys.

David Taylor and Cael Sanderson are looking to land the best wrestlers in the country to fill their rosters, and a rivalry is being formed—one recruit at a time.
