Wrexham hosts Southampton at The Racecourse Ground in a crucial Championship fixture, with both clubs fighting for a playoff position.
Phil Parkinson’s side currently holds a narrow one-point lead over the Saints, though the visitors possess a crucial game in hand.
The 2-2 draw against West Brom on Friday provided just enough to overtake Southampton in the standings ahead of this meeting.
Parkinson accepted the recent result while highlighting the club's difficult schedule. "We'll take the point. If you look, before we played Watford, there were nine games to go, six away, three at home.”
"I think people would have probably been looking at that thinking 'wow, that's going to be a tough challenge for Wrexham,” he said.
Looking ahead to the match, Parkinson noted the importance of facing a direct rival but insisted that every game in this final run is just as critical.
After watching his side fight back from 2-0 down to rescue a draw against the Baggies, Parkinson immediately shifted his focus to the Southampton match.
With only six games to go, the 58-year-old insists that every team is still playing for something and that no opponent can be taken lightly.
"I think at this stage of the season, though, it's hard to say one game's harder than the next because everybody's fighting for something.”
Parkinson used the grit shown by West Brom as a clear example of why his side can't afford to switch off.
"Look at West Brom, I said to the lads that this team are fighting for survival; they're a team who've gone to Bristol City and won, they've beaten Hull at home and they've gone to Sheffield United and drawn, so it's very difficult to say how hard games are because every game's got something different on it.”
With the finish line in sight, the Wrexham boss wants his players to maintain their intensity until the very last whistle. "Now the aim is to give absolutely everything in these final six games to finish the season off strongly."
