Player Review: Run Forrest Run

Forrest Wall's stats

MLB Stats: .462/.533/1.379 with one homer, six runs scored, two RBIs, and five stolen bases in 13 plate appearances

MiLB Stats: .280/.372/.799 with eight homers, 62 runs scored, 43 RBI, and 52 stolen bases

What did he do well?

Forrest Wall was a thief. He was one of the best base stealers in the MiLB and the MLB. He stole 52 bases in 90 games at Gwinnett and he stole five bases in 15 games for the Braves. His speed is what got him on the big league roster and he proved he could change games with his base-stealing ability.

Where did he struggle?

There honestly isn't really anything I can complain about for Forrest Wall. The only thing that he does not do well is hit for power. That's just who he is though. He is not a guy that will give you 20 homers a year. He put up some of the best numbers in his career this year in Gwinnett in the field and in the batter's box. He played LF, CF, and RF for Gwinnett and Atlanta, and in 98 games, he has a 1.000 fielding percentage. He did not make an error all year.

Forest Wall's contract status

Forrest Wall is slated to make $770,000 next year in Atlanta. Of note, he only gets that amount for days he is on the active roster - during his time in Gwinnett, he receives a significantly lower amount. Wall is in the same kind of situation as Darius Vines. They are guys that are on the cusp of making it to the majors and both are in Pre-Arb.
