No. 5 Texas and No. 8 Ohio State will face off in the College Football Playoff semifinal on Jan. 10.
The anticipated matchup will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington (Texas) and kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
The Longhorns are coming off a thrilling double-overtime win over No. 4 Arizona State in the quarterfinals. Steve Sarkisian's squad showcased several weaknesses that need to be fixed this week to have any shot of reaching the national championship.
The Buckeyes defeated No. 1 Oregon by 20 points in their quarterfinal matchup. Ohio State is viewed as the hottest team left in the playoff and will be no easy task for the Longhorns.
According to FanDuel, Ohio State is viewed as the 5.5-point favorite over Texas. The over/under is set at 53.5 points. ESPN currently lists the Buckeyes as the 6.5-point favorite. It's been a while since the Longhorns entered a game as the underdog but perhaps it's the motivation they need.
The winner of Texas-Ohio State will reach the national championship game to face the winner of No. 6 Penn State and No. 7 Notre Dame.
