Predicting Look Of Cowboys Receiver Room After Roster Cutdowns
Chris Jones-Imagn Images

The Dallas Cowboys' receiver room has been a good watch all offseason, with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens headlining the room.

Both are seen as genuine No. 1 weapons and have performed as such in camp.

But behind them, things have gotten interesting and looking at the depth chart as roster cutdowns are upon us, many, like me, have KaVontae Turpin as the third receiver.

His improvement to become more than a one-trick pony as a returner has been there for all to see, so much so that he's jumped Tolbert, who led Dallas in touchdown catches last season, so that tells you all you need to know.

So that is the top three taken care of.

Now to the rest of the room.

One question we have to ask ourselves is how many receivers will Brian Schottenheimer keep, five or six? Answer that, and the process becomes a little easier.

I'm going with six, and based on the camp and preseason performances, I'll go with Jalen Tolbert, Ryan Flournoy, and Jalen Brooks rounding out the group. If Jonathan Mingo wasn't injured, then perhaps Flournoy and Brooks get bumped down a spot, but both have shown they can make plays on offense, and perhaps more importantly, on special teams.

Flournoy and Brooks both had good preseason outings, too, which will help their cause in making it onto the active roster, given Mingo's injury.

If you wanted to go with Traeshon Holden to sneak onto the roster, there's a case to be made for sure, but it would need to be a strong one. However, for me, Holden lands on the practice squad along with Jalen Cropper.

Lamb, Pickens, Turpin, Tolbert, Flournoy, and Brooks are the receivers to begin Schottenheimer's first season as head coach of the Cowboys in 2025.
