The No. 22 Boston College Eagles (21-9, 8-4 ACC) baseball team travels to Chapel Hill, N.C., to take on the No. 6 UNC Tar Heels (25-4-1, 9-3 ACC) for a three-game series starting on Thursday evening. 

The Eagles are on a hot streak heading into the matchup as they have won 10 of their last 11 games. During the stretch, Boston College has earned wins over Sacred Heart 5-4, UMass Lowell 12-2, Northeastern 3-2, Merrimack 12-2, Maine 7-4, a series sweep of Cal 4-3, 9-6, and 3-2, and a series win over No. 10 Virginia this past weekend with a 5-3 and 17-0 win as well as a 3-1 loss in the finale. 

The Tar Heels are riding a six-game winning streak into the series. In the time frame, UNC has picked up wins over Louisville 7-6 to win the series, South Carolina 9-1, Campbell 5-4, and a series sweep of Notre Dame over the weekend 6-5, 13-7, and 15-10. 

Last year, Boston College and UNC met a total of four times and the Tar Heels took the season series 3-1. 

The first was for a three-game set during the regular season from March 21-23, 2025. UNC took the opening game of the series 5-1 and the finale 10-0. Boston College won the middle game 3-2 to force a rubber match. 

The next time the pair met was in the ACC Tournament Quarterfinals on May 23 which the Tar Heels won 7-2 after coming back from a two-run deficit. The loss ended the Eagles’ season.

Last Outing, UNC: The Tar Heels picked up a 5-4 win over the Campbell Fighting Camels in 14 innings in the early morning hours of Wednesday. 

Last Outing, Boston College: The Eagles earned a 7-4 home win over the Maine Black Bears on Tuesday evening. 

Last Meeting: The last time these two teams met was last year on May 23, 2025, in the ACC Tournament Quarterfinals. UNC defeated Boston College 7-2,  ending the Eagles’ season.
