Amongst many things, Princess Diana of Wales was known as a style icon throughout her life in the public eye. Pieces like her wedding dress set trends for an entire generation of brides, as did many of her outfits up until her untimely and tragic death in 1997.
One of these iconic outfits is none other than Princess Di's magenta nylon HEAD one-piece ski suit. She was photographed in the ski suit many times between 1985-1992 (how's that for a timeless kit??) on various ski trips.
Now, the suit is up for auction by Julien's as part of a massive collection of the Princess' things provided by a variety of sources. The auction will officially go live on June 26, 2025, but the piece is already accepting bids. Julien's estimates that the suit will sell for between $30,000 and $50,000 and has a starting bid of $8,000.

The suit itself is one of those incredible one-piece suits from the 80s, complete with an asymmetric zip closure and dolman sleeves that billow out and then taper at the forearms in true Princess Di style. 'HEAD' (presumably referring to the brand) is embroidered on the chest in white.
Purchase of the kit also includes a copy of the Dressing Diana book, with photography by Tim Graham and words by Tasmin Blanchard.
The royal family was known to take trips to Lech, Austria, which was reportedly Princess Diana's favorite ski area. She was photographed wearing the suit there in 1992. Princess Di is also known to have taken ski trips to Klosters, Switzerland and Vail, Colorado, and was apparently a very good skier.
HEAD's legacy is also not all together surprising as one of high fashion and performance in skiing. In 2022, the brand released a legacy capsule collection with Olympic medalist Lindsey Vonn that's initial launch included a one-piece that was a essentially black version of Princess Di's suit.
