Inter Milan starlet Francesco Pio Esposito is reportedly on the verge of fulfilling his dream of making his Italy debut.
According to Nicolò Schira via FCInterNews, the 20-year-old is about to receive his first senior call-up.
New Inter boss Cristian Chivu insisted on the young striker’s stay during the summer transfer window.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri turned down a €40 million offer from Napoli for Francesco Pio Esposito.
Furthermore, Chivu plans to hand the prodigious center-forward a prominent role at San Siro.
Despite representing his country at every youth level, Esposito is still waiting for his first senior appearance for Italy.
However, that could soon change, with new head coach Gennaro Gattuso eager to include him in his squad in September.
The Azzurri will face Israel and Estonia at the beginning of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying cycle.
And Esposito could make his Italy debut during the upcoming international break.
Meanwhile, he had to skip Inter’s 5-0 rout of Torino in the first Serie A round due to suspension.
