On the latest Ensemble PSG Podcast, Robin Bairner, chief editor at Football Transfers, shared his take on Lee potentially leaving in the final days of the summer window.

“PSG are in a difficult position because Kang In-Lee is obviously an immensely talented player,” Bairner said. “We know that the likes of Spurs have looked at him. But equally, I think PSG have been slightly surprised by what he’s brought to them, not necessarily on the field, because he’s maybe not played as much as we would have expected.

“But certainly off the field, from a sponsorship and commercial point of view, I know the board have been surprised by just how much he’s brought to PSG in terms of interest in South Korea. So you’ve got that dimension to consider as well regarding Kang-in Lee.”

Moreover, with PSG having played well into the summer after last season, Bairner believes that the Parisians will need to lean heavily on their depth players to start the 2025-26 season.

“PSG have built a deep squad that has brought them close to a treble, but one player could be eyeing a move amid interest from Manchester United and Napoli,” Bairner added.

“Under Luis Enrique, PSG have relied on that depth to win consecutive Ligue 1 titles, the Coupe de France, the UEFA Champions League, and the UEFA Super Cup, rotating heavily to keep players fresh across multiple competitions.

“However, not everyone is happy with a rotational role. Some are seeking more playing time, and that seems to be the case for Kang-in Lee, who is now reportedly attracting transfer interest. Moreover, Lee is coming off as one of the catalysts in the Super Cup comeback win over Tottenham Hotspur.”
