Paris Saint-Germain is on the verge of addressing arguably the biggest weakness on their superteam, which is finding a left-back.

At the moment, there’s Juan Bernat, who’s coming off a severe knee injury, and Abdou Diallo. There’s Layvin Kurzawa, but it doesn’t seem like he’s in the plans from now on. As a result, the capital club needed to find another left-back, and it looks as though they’ve attained it in Sporting CP’s Nuno Mendes.

Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Les Parisiens are signing all the paperwork for the Mendes deal with the player’s agent and Sporting CP. It will be a loan agreement with a €7-million fee and a €40-option option to buy.

Over the summer, PSG has overhauled its full-backs, which was their weakness last season as they’ve added Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan and now appear all set to add Mendes from Sporting CP.

The Portuguese defender seems like the final addition to a tremendous summer for the Ligue 1 side, who’ve improved their backline, added a veteran midfielder, arguably the best young goalkeeper, and the Lionel Messi guy.
