In an exciting match at Canberra's GIO Stadium, the Canberra Raiders pulled off an incredible comeback to overcome the Dolphins 40-28. After falling behind 28-10 at the half, the Raiders won the game with 30 points in a row in the second half.
Following their outstanding previous performances, both teams had an excellent advantage just before kickoff. The Dolphins earned a penalty kick on Savelio Tamale in the first few minutes of play, and Tamale's touchdown gave the Raiders a 4-0 lead.
Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow rushed into the try zone, giving the Dolphins an instant comeback and leveling the score at 6-4. Herbie Farnworth and Daniel Saifiti both scored tries in different areas of the Raiders defense after halftime, giving the Dolphins a 28-10 lead.
During halftime, head coach Ricky Stuart gave encouragement, which caused the Raiders team to completely change. The Raiders maintained their focus and developed greater discipline during the final half.
Shortly after Hosking's goal, Ethan Strange added a goal to put the Raiders six points clear of their rivals. The Raiders pushed ahead, but Matt Nicholson ran a beautiful play to Matt Timoko, who then scored a try to tie the score at 28-28.
After a left unsupervised ball was kicked into the in-goal zone and successfully grounded, Sebis Kris scored a try for the Raiders in the final ten minutes.
When Jamal Fogarty showed his individual brilliance by breaking through the Dolphins' defense and landing under the posts, the Raiders were able to hold onto their win. The final score was 40-28 after Fogarty's late penalty kick and conversion.
After this win, the Raiders extended their winning streak to four games and moved up to third place in the NRL. The Dolphins tried to score in the second half but were unable to capitalize on their missed chances.
