It is being reported that the Las Vegas Raiders have signed Super Bowl winning quarterback Kenny Pickett in exchange for 2026 fifth-round draft pick.
It was announced by NFL Network’s insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo that Pickett was traded by the Cleveland Browns Monday evening.
Pickett is being traded for the third time in his career. During the offseason, the Raiders were not looking for a quarterback seeing as they had Aiden O’Connell, but O’Connell suffered a fractured wrist in the Raiders’ final preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals.
O’Connell is ruled out for at least six weeks. The Raiders figured they need a backup behind Geno Smith.
Pickett is expected to come right in to learn the Raiders’ offensive scheme and where he fits in as quickly as possible and immediately prepare to be the backup to Geno Smith as Cleveland moves forward with their two rookies and Joe Flacco as the starter.
