Ravens 2025 NFL Draft: TCU WR Savion Williams Scouting Report

The Baltimore Ravens are one of several teams well aware of the fact that there is no such thing as too many good wide receivers in the modern NFL. This could influence their 2025 NFL Draft plans and lead them to consider selecting TCU dynamo Savion Williams at some point.

While fellow Horned Frogs wide receiver Jack Bech has put up enough on tape to earn a Top-100 selection, Williams may have the higher ceiling of the two due to his unique physical profile and overall style of play. A creative offensive coordinator will love him.

However, there are some rough edges to Williams' game, and any team that plans to use one of their precious few picks on Williams must be made keenly aware of the fact that he will need some fine-tuning before he becomes a star.

Positives

• Freak athlete, former strong-armed high-school quarterback with a 40-inch vertical jump and tremendous straight-line speed for a player his size.
• Extreme versatility, ran for six touchdowns as a runner/wildcat quarterback this season. Shows great vision as a ball-carrier in between the tackles.
• Knows how to use his physical strength both at the line of scrimmage and down the field, able to emerge as a viable deep threat and shows promise in the red zone.
• Tremendous elusiveness underneath, pairs it with a rough-running style that will make him a potential high-end slot target.

Williams is such a headache for opposing defenses, as he needs to be taken into account as both an over-the-middle threat and a runner. Williams was used in a way not dissimilar to Deebo Samuel, albeit with a 6-5 frame making him a difficult player to tackle in the open field.

As a receiver and runner, Williams shows an understanding of how to use his frame to full effect. Once he becomes a bit sharper with some of his routes down the field, Williams could evolve into a premier deep threat at the next level.

Negatives

• Has struggled with drops throughout his career, and those issues persisted throughout last season.
• Production is middling, never more than 611 receiving yards in five seasons. Could be a jack of all trades, master of none who doesn't last at WR full-time.
• Offers next to nothing as a blocker despite his size, effort and technique are both major concerns.
• Route-running on intermediate routes looks subpar

Williams has some serious bust potential if not utilized correctly, as he was never the type of player who was able to take over a game on the back of his exceptional receiving ability. His drops may be something whoever picks him will have to deal with at this point.

If Williams' ability to make plays as a runner or yards-after-catch threat is not utilized properly by whomever ends up drafting him, there are enough concerns in his route-running and overall technical mastery of the position to make him a risky bet.

While an obvious comparison, it's obvious for a reason. Williams may not be the most refined receiver, but he is the type of player who will make magic happen if you get him the ball with some momentum.

Williams will be a tough nut to crack in the pros, but there's something to be said about using a pick in this range to select a high-end playmaking athlete and trying to figure it out later.
