The University of Louisville rowing team has made some exciting additions to their roster for the fall of 2024. Head coach Derek Copeland has announced that five talented prospective student-athletes have signed National Letters-of-Intent to continue their education and rowing careers at UofL. First up is Ellie Fazio from Horsham, Pennsylvania. Fazio, who attended Mount Saint Joseph Academy, is still undecided on her major. When asked why she chose Louisville, Fazio cited the team culture. She believes in the positive and hardworking atmosphere at Louisville and feels like the team is a true family.

Olivia Koproski from Dayton, Ohio will also be joining the Cardinals. Koproski, who attended Stivers School for the Arts, will be majoring in Exercise Science. She chose Louisville because of the tremendous support the university offers both athletically and academically. Koproski also appreciates the focus on success both in the present and in the future.

Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is Keira Krebs. Krebs, a student-athlete from North Catholic High School, plans to major in Neuroscience. She was drawn to Louisville because of the great coaches, welcoming team environment, and the academic support available to help her reach her goals.

Maddy Pleune, from Tampa, Florida, will be bringing her talents to Louisville as well. Pleune, a student-athlete from H.B Plant High School, will be majoring in Biology. She is most excited about the opportunities to meet new people and participate in races.

Lastly, we have Clara Van Dyk from Port Colborne, Ontario. Van Dyk, who attended Welland Centennial Secondary School, will be majoring in Education. She was welcomed by the athletes right away and could sense their drive and determination. She believes that Louisville is the place where she will grow as both a student and an athlete.

These five recruits bring a wealth of talent and potential to the Louisville rowing team. Head coach Derek Copeland must be thrilled to have them join the program. Their passion, dedication, and commitment to both academics and athletics align perfectly with the values of the university. The future looks bright for the Cardinals as they continue to build a strong rowing program.
