Recently hired LSU coach making an early impression on four-star cornerback

When LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond was first brought on, Tiger faithful were pretty confident he’d be able to work some magic on the recruiting trail. As it turns out, that confidence was warranted, as he’s already made an early impression on some of the best recruits in the country, including four-star cornerback Cobey Sellers.

Corey Raymond was officially brought on as the new LSU secondary coach on January 18, 2024. It hasn’t even been a full month, and the veteran assistant already has the Tigers in the running for some of the best defensive back recruits in the country.

While he was unsuccessful in flipping five-star athlete Terry Bussey over from Texas A&M, there’s some major momentum in the class of 2025 thus far. One of the biggest names of note is five-star safety DJ Pickett, but there are several other recruitments to keep an eye on, including four-star cornerback Cobey Sellers.

Sellers initially received an offer from the purple and gold in June of 2023, but it appears that his draw to LSU has only increased since the hiring of coach Raymond.

Sellers, a product out of Pearland, TX, recently spoke to Sam Spiegelman of On3 about his relationship with the program, and the four-star cornerback had some very encouraging things to say.
