With official visits taking place throughout May and June, there are plenty of opportunities for a recruit’s process to completely change. Washington is hoping that isn’t the case with local four-star defensive lineman David Schwerzel, who is trending towards the Huskies after his official visit over the weekend.

While Schwerzel may be trending towards the Huskies today, he does have additional official visits scheduled to Stanford and UCLA during the next two weekends. One good bit of news for the Huskies, Cardinal and Bruins though, is that Schwerzel has cancelled two other previously scheduled trips to Michigan State and Cal.

Schwerzel, 6-foot-4 and 270-pounds, plays his high school football at O’Dea in Seattle, which is only about five miles from the Washington campus. He currently plays defensive end, but he has the frame and ability to move inside in college.

With a decision date set for June 19th, it is up to Stanford and UCLA to win Schwerzel over, because if he was choosing today, he would be a Washington Huskie.
