If there were a list of the most hated NBA players by New York Knicks fans, Reggie Miller would easily earn a spot on it.
The biggest reason behind it is Reggie Miller’s involvement in the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers’ intense rivalry in the 1990s.
Miller and the Pacers often became a headache for the Knicks during that decade and held back the franchise in the Eastern Conference.
Evidently, Knicks superfan Spike Lee is not a fan of Miller. But fast forward to 2025, and the two have seemingly settled their differences.
Miller is among the legends gathered for the broadcast team for the NBA on NBC coverage this season.
Speaking of which, the Knicks are tied for the most games scheduled to be broadcast on the network. Evidently, Knicks fans will hear Miller’s play-by-play commentary.
Ahead of his new endeavor, Miller shared his honest thoughts on his current relationship with Lee.
“Spike and I are actually good now. It helps that the Pacers won both of [the last two playoff meetings],” Miller told Geoff Magliocchetti of Knicks on SI.
He added: “I don’t have to hear his mouth as much, but he and I are at a much better place than we were 30 years ago.”
As Miller pointed out, the Pacers have knocked out the Knicks in back-to-back postseasons. Thus, somewhat silencing Lee in the process.
While Miller retired without winning an NBA Championship, he’s still viewed as one of the best three-point shooters of all time. That’s the legacy he has left behind.
But what is Miller’s goal as a broadcaster? He revealed in the same interview with Knicks on SI.
“Being on this side of it, there’ll be some young player, 15, 20, 30 years down the road, saying some of my best moments happened when Reggie Miller was calling my games,” Miller stated. “That’s kind of cool for me to be in those type of shoes.”
It’s great to see Miller putting in so much thought ahead of his broadcasting career with the NBA on NBC.
