Inter Milan outcast Tomas Palacios is on his way to joining Santos on loan, allowing the Nerazzurri to focus on signing a new defender.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Argentine will spend next season on loan in Brazil.
Though Santos won’t pay a dime for the loan, there’s a €10 million buyout option in the deal.
However, the clause is not mandatory, meaning Tomas Palacios must impress the Santos board to earn a permanent transfer.
With Palacios waving goodbye to San Siro, Inter can sign a new defender down the final stretch of the transfer window.
Time is a factor, yet the Italian giants are already in ‘advanced talks’ with Fenerbahce for Yusuf Akcicek.
Despite seeing their opening €16 million bid rejected, the Nerazzurri will soon make a new attempt to sign the 19-year-old.
Considered one of Europe’s hottest defensive prospects, Akcicek would be a massive coup for the future.
However, Inter must not lose any more time.
