Former Inter Milan target Ademola Lookman remains frozen out from the Atalanta squad after a long-running transfer saga.
According to Corriere di Bergamo via FCInterNews, the Nigerian forward will stay on the sidelines until September 2.
Despite his failed move to San Siro, the 27-year-old has not returned to pre-season training in Bergamo.
Furthermore, new coach Ivan Juric omitted him from the squad for the first-round clash against Pisa.
With Atalanta set to take on Parma in round two, Ademola Lookman will sit out as his future remains uncertain.
Lookman had even tried to force his transfer to Inter as he rebelled against Atalanta in a desperate attempt to leave the club.
However, La Dea didn’t succumb to pressure before the Nerazzurri decided to pull out of talks.
Now, the versatile forward sits on the fringes, waiting for Atalanta to decide on his future.
Meanwhile, the Gewiss Stadium club plans to finalize his status once the transfer window closes.
