Napoli are making progress for Rasmus Hojlund, reportedly reaching an agreement for his salary and edging closer to a loan with option to buy from Manchester United.
The centre-forward became a prime target after news that Romelu Lukaku would be out of action for three to four months with a serious thigh injury.
He had previously been linked with Milan and Juventus, but was hesitant to accept a loan with option to buy, hoping for more guarantees on his future.
Now Sky Sport Italia claim that there has been significant progress in negotiations today, with Hojlund accepting the salary proposal.
Manchester United and the player are also more inclined now to agree to a loan deal with option to buy at the end of the season.
Once these major issues have been resolved, it should be far easier to sort out the details, which Sky Sport Italia claim they are working on now.
The 22-year-old shot to fame in Serie A with Atalanta in 2022-23 and earned a massive €77.8m plus add-ons transfer to Manchester United that summer.
Last season, the Denmark international scored 10 goals in 52 competitive appearances, also providing four assists.
