Inter Milan could sign either Dayot Upamecano or Kim Min-Jae from Bayern Munich if Benjamin Pavard leaves.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInterNews. They report that if Pavard stays then Inter will target a younger defender.
Inter Milan look likely to sign a defender before the summer transfer window.
The backline is one area of the pitch that the Nerazzurri have not yet addressed this summer.
However, Inter’s strategy will depend on potential outgoings.
So far Inter have also not sold any defenders. Therefore, their backline looks the same as last season.
However, there are reports that Benjamin Pavard could head for the exit door before the transfer window closes. Galatasaray and Neom are targeting the Frenchman.
And if Inter lose Pavard, then they will aim to make a like-for-like replacement by signing a defender capable of coming straight into the starting eleven.
According to La Repubblica, that could even mean signing a player from the same club Inter signed Pavard from, Bayern Munich.
Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-Jae are both on Inter’s radar in that sense.
However, if Pavard stays, then Inter’s plan would be to sign a younger defender more for the future than the present.
