Brazilian giants Santos are on the cusp of signing Inter Milan fringe defender Tomas Palacios on loan with an option to buy.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri can now focus on landing a new center-back.
When it looked like Tomas Palacios could stay at San Siro until January, Santos swooped in to finalize the deal.
Indeed, the 22-year-old is already on his way back to South America after a disappointing first season in Europe.
With Palacios gone, Beppe Marotta has freed up space for a new center-back.
However, time is ticking away, with only a few days left before the transfer deadline.
Therefore, Inter cannot afford to waste time.
Fenerbahce starlet Yusuf Akcicek has emerged as the Italian side’s top target to replace the Argentine.
Indeed, talks between the clubs are underway, with Inter hoping to complete the deal in a blitz.
Meanwhile, Inter must now sort out the future of Mehdi Taremi as Sassuolo aim to sign the Iranian veteran.
