Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan are reportedly on the verge of signing Fenerbahce center-back Yusuf Akcicek.

According to Turkish outlet Gazeta Arena via FCInter1908, talks between the clubs are in advanced stages.

Despite failing to agree terms over Hakan Calhanoglu’s transfer to Istanbul, Inter and Fenerbahce could do business this summer.

Indeed, Yusuf Akcicek could continue his career at San Siro, with Inter pushing hard to secure his signature.

Fenerbahce turned down Inter’s opening bid worth €16 million last week.

However, negotiations are ongoing.

The Turkish giants have slapped a €20 million price tag on Akcicek.

Furthermore, they insist on a 10% sell-on clause, making talks more complex for Inter.

Yet, Cristian Chivu’s men look determined to complete the purchase.

In addition to becoming a first-team regular in Istanbul, Akcicek has already made two appearances for Turkey’s national team.

Indeed, the 19-year-old is among the most highly rated youngsters in European football.

Jose Mourinho has recently praised Akcicek for his maturity and tactical prowess, highlighting qualities rare for a player of his age.
