Report – Inter Milan Return To The Market For New Defender After Agreeing Tomas Palacios Loan With Santos

Inter Milan will reportedly dip back into the market to sign a new center-back after offloading Tomas Palacios to Santos.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Palacios’ imminent exit has freed up space for a new defender.

Tomas Palacios is on the cusp of joining Santos on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

Meanwhile, the club is scouring the market for defensive reinforcements to bolster Cristian Chivu’s backline.

The Nerazzurri will, in all likelihood, keep Benjamin Pavard.

However, Palacios’ departure leaves a hole in defense that Inter must cover with another center-back.

Fenerbahce starlet Yusuf Akcicek is reportedly Inter’s top target.

Indeed, talks with the Turkish giants are underway.

Chivu’s side saw their opening €16 million bid rejected, but they plan to accelerate negotiations in the coming days.

Widely considered among the brightest talents in European football, Akcicek would be a massive coup for the future.

Yet, there’s also a chance he could fight for a place in the first team from the get-go.
