This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan are reportedly looking to sign a defender before the transfer window slams shut.
The Nerazzurri have completed their fourth signing of the summer in the form of Andy Diouf. However, one area they have yet to strengthen in is at the back.
Therefore, Inter are working to find the right profile for their aging backline.
One player who Inter have reportedly already made an offer for is Fenerbahce’s Yusuf Akcicek. However, that’s not all.
According to the Corriere, Inter are casting a wide net in their search for a defender.
According to the Corriere, Inter have contacted Rennes about defender Jeremy Jacquet.
However, the Ligue 1 club have made clear that they want a fee of at least €50 million for the 20-year-old. The Corriere report that this asking price took Inter by surprise somewhat.
Meanwhile, the newspaper report, the Nerazzurri also sounded out a move for Club Brugge’s Joel Ordonez.
According to the Corriere, Brugge want a fee of €40 million for the Ecuadorian.
Furthermore, the Corriere also report that if Inter cannot get a deal done for a player they consider adequate for the future of their defense, they may postpone a signing until next summer.
