Former ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III has found himself at the center of an interesting social media feud this weekend.
It all started with Griffin tweeting at Barstool Sports personality Big Cat after the Chicago Bears fired Matt Eberflus. For those unfamiliar with Big Cat, he's a diehard Bears fan. He thought the team would be in great position this year because of Caleb Williams and its talented roster. Griffin thought Big Cat and Chicago fans everywhere overlooked the coaching staff. That being said, he decided to publicly call out the "Pardon My Take" host.
"This isn’t a victory lap @BarstoolBigCat," Griffin wrote on X. "I feel bad for you and all Bears Fans and Bears media. You deserve better. Bears fans deserve better. I tried to tell you that coaching matters. I tried to tell you that structure matters. And some of y’all treated me like the nice guy. You know the nice guy who tells the girl she deserves better and she still stays with the bad boy and gets hurt? That’s you. THAT was stupid.
"Caleb Williams could have used his leverage as the #1 pick to get the Bears to make a decision on the Coaching staff BEFORE he went there. I wanted you to break the cycle. Now Caleb will have his 3rd offensive coordinator and 2nd Head Coach in his 2nd year in the NFL instead of growing with the same Head Coach and staff."
Judging by Big Cat's response, he didn't appreciate this post from Griffin.
"Good week for you to already be scheduled to come to Chicago office. See you Thursday. Take your victory lap," Big Cat replied.
Griffin tried to defuse this situation by saying, "Get your coffee and donuts for comfort food bro." We're not sure if that'll actually make this situation better though.
If we're talking about who was right in this situation, the edge would go to Griffin. He correctly predicted that Eberflus wasn't the right coach for the Bears.
On the other hand, we get Big Cat's frustration. It's not fun watching your team go on a lengthy losing streak and somewhat become the laughingstock of the league.
