Robert Griffin III Thinks Cowboys Must Go All-Out For Deion Sanders

As the Dallas Cowboys' coaching search rolls on, plenty of analysts have an opinion on what the team should do.

As of earlier Thursday, reports seemed to indicate that Cowboys offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer was the clear front runner. Then, news broke that owner Jerry Jones had spoken with Super Bowl champion Pete Carroll, though no formal interview is set up with the former Seattle Seahawks coach. Of course, Jones raised a stir last week when he spoke with Colorado head coach and Cowboys legend Deion Sanders about the job.

Right now, it seems like the Cowboys are leaning in another direction, but Robert Griffin III thinks they need to refocus on Sanders.

On Thursday night, Griffin suggested that Dallas go all-out for Sanders the way the Jacksonville Jaguars are for Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen.

"The Jacksonville Jaguars are treating Liam Coen how the Dallas Cowboys should be treating Deion Sanders," Griffin tweeted.

Griffin is referring to the about-face Coen did on Thursday, one day after removing himself from the Jaguars' coaching mix.

After Jacksonville fired general manager Trent Baalke and reportedly upped their offer, Coen reconsidered and reconnected with the organization tonight.

"So what changed for Liam Coen? He got on the plane to Jacksonville after Jags' ownership called him directly and explained they will let him pick the general manager and would pay him 'Ben Johnson' level money along with multiple years, per sources," reported Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

So where does that leave Sanders and the Cowboys? We're not sure, but RGIII has advocated for Dallas to hire him before, so it's clear he's a big believer in what the Pro Football Hall of Famer can potentially accomplish at the NFL level.

It wouldn't surprise us if there is more news on the Cowboys' search on Friday, either indicating that they are moving forward with Schottenheimer or are looking at other candidates.
