Among other things, Cameron Brink is deep in training and rehabilitation as she aims to make a comeback this season, following her ACL injury that cut her 2024 rookie season short. Brink suffered a torn ACL in her left knee during a game against the Connecticut Sun.

The injury occurred less than four minutes into the game when Brink slipped while driving to the basket, forcing her to be helped off the court. The Sparks later confirmed that she would miss the rest of the season, as well as the Paris Olympics, where she had been selected for the U.S. women’s 3×3 basketball team.

For the 2025 season, the Sparks made key roster additions, including Mercedes Russell, Emma Cannon, and Kelsey Plum, which could help Brink ease back into competition.

Cameron Brink Opened Up on Training Struggles

In one episode of her podcast “Straight to Cam,” Cameron Brink shared an update on her recovery journey, and also got honest on the struggles she had to face along the way.

“It’s flown by, honestly,” Brink said of the recovery journey she had. “Like, it’s been a whirlwind, but I feel like now, people don’t talk about this as much. This is the hardest part for me, because I’m just finally starting to do the jumping, the running, you know, real impact stuff. And I went on a run the other day, and I was running for four minutes on and then walking for one minute, and I’m telling you, I’ve never been so gassed in my life.”

With these things said, Brink admitted that she had to start from scratch and that she had to “relearn” everything.

“I’m not an athlete right now,” she added. “Same thing with shooting. I’m not making the shots. I feel like I’m just having to relearn everything.”
