Alabama football’s offense is looking to operate at a pro level in 2025 under the tutelage of newly hired offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb.

Grubb enters his first season in Tuscaloosa with the intention of making some additions to the Crimson Tide’s offense with NFL concepts and play designs. This intention comes after Grubb took a brief pit stop in the NFL as the Seattle Seahawks’ offensive play-caller in 2024. During that time, Grubb was able to incorporate his fingerprints on Seattle’s passing game, guiding the Seahawks to the eighth-best passing attack in the NFL, averaging over 236.5 passing yards per game.

Grubb is now looking to see similar success within the Tide’s offense by bringing these concepts to Alabama football.

The first-year Crimson Tide coordinator was asked about what he learned during his year in the NFL on Thursday.

“I think there’s different type of coordinator families, different type of coverage structures and things like that, that people run that run through conferences and areas of football,” Grubb said. “So, I think you know, from that standpoint, you’re just getting used to attacking different types of defenses.”

Alabama’s senior wide receiver, Germie Bernard commented on the undergoing installation of concepts that Grubb has been infusing within the Tide’s offense from spring to now in fall camp.

“Coach Grubb, he was in the league, and he’s learned a lot of new things,” Bernard said. “He’s bringing those things in, into the playbook. So I just think learning those new things and giving us an opportunity to run more NFL plays, I think that’s going to give us an opportunity to show scouts that we can run NFL routes, make NFL plays.”

With Grubb’s NFL experience and the multitude of weapons that the Crimson Tide’s offense possesses, this ongoing development will be something the Alabama faithful and college football fans monitor all season long.
