Jennings began his collegiate career at Wharton Junior College before transferring to Louisiana Tech before the 2020 season. He redshirted in 2020 and pitched for the Bulldogs in his junior and senior collegiate seasons. In his draft year (2022), Jennings started 14 of his 21 appearances, posting a 3.59 ERA and 4.20 FIP in 90.1 innings pitched.

The Jays selected the 6’0”, 190 lbs righty with their fourth-round pick, signing him to a $70,000 bonus. After the draft, Jennings had a 2.16 ERA and 6.04 FIP in 8.1 innings pitched in five games out of the bullpen with the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays.

In 2023, Jennings returned to the rotation, starting 10 of the 12 games he appeared in and posting a 3.98 ERA and 3.52 FIP in 43 innings pitched. Moreover, Jennings was running a 30.9 K% and 9.6 BB% while splitting his time between Single-A and High-A.

The righty began the 2024 season with the High-A Vancouver Canadians, starting all 11 games he appeared in. Moreover, he had a 2.13 ERA and 3.39 FIP in 50.2 innings pitched, with a 26.5 K% and 9 BB%. Upon his promotion to Double-A New Hampshire, Jennings only started one of the ten games he appeared in and had a 0.90 ERA and 3.08 FIP in 10 innings of work, giving him a 1.93 ERA for the season.

Jennings became a full-time reliever in 2025, beginning his season in Double-A with the Fisher Cats. Through 11 games, or 22 innings, the 26-year-old had a 2.86 ERA and 4.22 FIP, while posting a 28.6 K% and 14.3 BB%. He earned a promotion to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, where he had a 4.40 ERA and 6.13 FIP in 30.2 innings pitched, striking out 27.2% of the batters he faced while his walk rate remained high at 15.2%.

According to Prospect Savant, Jennings has a four-pitch mix, featuring a sinker that sits a tick under 95 mph, as well as a slider, curveball, and changeup. The 26-year-old had average command and control heading into the 2025 season, but walks have plagued him this year. Still, he has a 32.5 whiff%, which is in the 80th percentile for all Triple-A players.
