For Tennessee Vol fans who are in favor of rivalry games at night, then Wednesday provided some welcome news regarding one annual foe on the Vols' 2025 football schedule.

The SEC and Tennessee announced two concrete windows for a pair of rivalry games and flex windows for a handful of others.  Tennessee's matchup with Kentucky on October 25 in Lexington will be a night game, and their regular season finale at home against Vanderbilt on November 29 will be in the afternoon time slot.

The night slot for Kentucky means the game will start between 6:00 and 8:00 pm ET.  The afternoon slot against Vanderbilt will start between 3:30 and 4:30 pm ET.  The remaining SEC games have been set in "flex" slots, meaning either the afternoon or night slot time frame for Mississippi State, Arkansas, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Florida.

The Vols and Wildcats have been a primetime matchup over the last four years, and the Vols have delivered some particularly exciting and memorable performances in their last two trips to the Bluegrass State.  In 2021, Tennessee's JaVonta Payton took a pass 75 yards on the game's opening play to set the tone for a high-scoring back and forth game that the Vols eked out 45-42.  In 2023, Tennessee led throughout, but Kentucky remained on their heels until the end of a 33-27 Big Orange victory.

Now, the Vols and Wildcats will be under the lights and before the eyes of the nation again in Lexington. And history says we'll likely see another exciting and memorable contest this at Kroger Field on October 25.
