Last winter, in March, Shaun White launched the first Snow League event, a new winter sports event circuit focused on halfpipe riding. White, of course, may be the most famous snowboarder of all time, having won three Olympic gold medals in the halfpipe with a heap of X Games hardware to match.
It makes some sense, then, that when the Snow debuted in Aspen, it only starred snowboarders as they competed in the unique head-to-head format. But since the Snow League’s first reveal, we’ve known that skiers would eventually join the fold.
Today, the Snow League revealed who those skiers are.
Eight male and eight female skiers will join the 36 snowboarders during the second stop of the Snow League’s inaugural tour. The event is being held at China’s Yunding Snow Park between December 4 and December 6, a previous host for the 2022 Winter Olympics.

The roster includes 12 Olympians with 13 Olympic medals among them.
Eileen Gu is one of freeskiing’s highest profile stars and, in 2024, was the second highest paid female athlete on the planet. David Wise is a three-time halfpipe Olympic medalist. Perhaps the most notable inclusion on the list, Gus Kenworthy, is mounting a professional skiing comeback after previously retiring in 2022.
"Welcoming the world’s top 16 freeskiers to The Snow League is a defining moment for our league,” said Omer Atesmen, CEO of The Snow League.
“These athletes represent the pinnacle of talent, creativity, and progression in freeskiing, and now they’ll have the stage they deserve on a global platform built to match their goals and purpose,” he added.
The freeskiers will skip the third stop of the Snow League in February for a 2026 Winter Olympics hiatus. They’ll reconvene for the tour’s final event in Laax, Switzerland, between March 19 and March 21, 2026.
Across the two events, skiers will battle for a combined prize purse of $580,000. Skiers at each competition receive $50,000 for first, $20,000 for second, $10,000 for third, and $5,000 for fourth—plus a $5,000 appearance fee.
In January, the Snow League announced that it had received $15 million in funding during a round led by Left Lane Capital.
The skiing debut of Snow League comes as X Games is preparing to unveil its own league, the X Games League. Set to begin with summer action sports next summer, the circuit is set to first include skiing and snowboarding in 2027.
