Shedeur Sanders Instagram story reignites Raiders rumors

For a long time, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders appeared destined to become a Las Vegas Raider in the 2025 Draft.

Sanders’s social media activity throughout the season, cryptic or otherwise, all connected to the Raiders in some way. He and his family also have connections with various members of the organization, most notably minority owner Tom Brady. His poise and presence in the pocket would lead the Raiders to wins on the field, while his swagger and magnetic personality creates a new generation of fans off of it.

When the Raiders traded for Geno Smith from the Seattle Seahawks, however, it appears that dream was dashed. However, a good storyline never dies so soon, and the latest social media activity from Sanders has added a new twist.

Sanders’s latest Instagram post suggests that the possibility of him joining the Raiders is not yet eliminated.

On Sunday, Sanders posted a picture of himself and Smith on his Instagram story with the caption “Legendary.”

Sanders is projected to be drafted in the top-five selections, but the Raiders have suddenly found themselves back in the hunt.

With rumors of Sanders rubbing scouts the wrong way during draft interviews circulating, there is a chance Sanders slips to the Raiders at the sixth overall selection. While Smith presents a short-term solution to the team’s quarterback woes, new general manager John Spytek is still on the hunt for a long-term answer. Sanders would undoubtedly have a groundswell of support within the organization and, if this post is anything to go by, he already has a close relationship to a potential mentor in Smith.

A quarterback room featuring Smith and Sanders comes across as a bit luxurious with all the other needs on the Raiders roster, but there is no denying it is a massive upgrade over the situation last year.
