Shedeur Sanders led all Cleveland Browns quarterbacks in the stat department during team drills Wednesday. ESPN Cleveland provided the full breakdown of all four signal callers.
Sanders competed with Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel. It’ll be interesting to see how the depth chart shakes out by the time the season rolls around.
Could all four still be in Cleveland? Maybe. But there’s a long way to go. For now, Sanders looked impressive, for what it’s worth.

Sanders completed seven-of-nine passes and threw three touchdowns. Flacco went nine-of-14 with one touchdown, Pickett was nine-of-16 passing and Gabriel was 11-of-16 passing with two touchdowns and one interception.
With no yardage included, the stats lack a little contest. Plus, this wasn’t live like a preseason or regular season game. But Sanders looked the part of what he did at Colorado. As did the others.
The quarterback race is far from over since training camp hasn’t begun just yet. But to say it isn’t a wide open competition would be disingenuous.
Sanders comes in with some credentials, including being the FBS’ all-time leader in career completion percentage. He finished his two years at Colorado with 7,364 yards, 64 touchdowns, 13 interceptions and a 71.8% completion percentage.
“We’re all different characters,” Sanders said of the Browns QB room on Up and Adams. “It’s funny going in there and seeing Joe everyday. It’s funny because at practice I’m like ‘Wow I’m really with Joe Flacco right now.’ We’re on the same team! That’s cool and of course with Kenny, with the experience he has being in the league for these years it’s cool, just seeing the process. Deshaun of course, he’s active in there, he’s in all the meetings. It’s cool to talk to him.”
Sanders was borderline smitten with Flacco with the way he talked about his elder teammate. From growing up watching him to learning from him, Sanders truly embraced the quarterback room in Cleveland.
“He’s just so funny and we’re on the same team … everybody’s cool in the room,” Sanders said. “Outside the room people try to put us against each other but inside the room, we know we’re one.”
