Yes, there has been another Shilo Sanders incident. It has not been a great few years for him, both on and off the field. Not only because of an assault lawsuit and bankruptcy, but Sanders was not selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. Luckily, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers gave him a chance to prove he belongs, but this latest incident might have ended it.
In Week 3 of the preseason, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were playing against the Buffalo Bills. In the middle of that game, Sanders was given some reps, and he got in a battle with Bills Tight end Zach Davidson. During on e of those coverage battles, he got annoyed with Davidson and decided to punch him, which resulted in him getting ejected from the game. He must be smart and let the emotions take over.
That was the worst thing Sanders could do because his roster spot is not 100% safe when the Bucs took a chance on him. While he looked solid during his first preseason performance, the Buccaneers have a ton of depth at secondary, including safety. Getting ejected in that game gave others more reps and opportunities to stand out. Along with showing his immaturity, that might have cost him his job.
That is a shame because he showed potential, but with the Bucs’ depth, he’s not a player that they would want to keep. To make things worse, that punch will result in Sanders having to pay an expensive fine, and he does not need that with the bankruptcy issues.
It was not a good day to be a Sanders. Shedeur Sanders was horrible during his last preseason game with the Cleveland Browns. Shilo might have just cost himself his job on the active roster. Now, could he still make the roster even after this incident? It is hard to tell, but this won’t help his case, that’s for sure.
