Simone Biles is in Italy to support her fellow American athletes at the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics. One of the Olympians she has been cheering for is alpine skiing star Mikaela Shiffrin.
Shiffrin took center stage on Wednesday in her third event at this year’s Winter Games. Shiffrin was coming off back-to-back losses in the team combined and giant slalom competitions. The 30-year-old redeemed herself with a gold medal win at her preferred event, the slalom.
Congratulations quickly poured in for Shiffrin, and Biles was among the thousands of fans who sent messages of support for the star skier.
There was a lot of noise surrounding Shiffrin heading into Wednesday’s race. She had failed to medal in eight straight events, dating back to the 2018 Beijing Olympics. Shiffrin erased all the doubt with a dominant race at the slalom final en route to her fourth Olympic medal.
Shiffrin took to social media after her race to send a heartfelt message. The decorated skier reflected on her journey and celebrated her victory.
Biles shared her reaction by commenting on the post. The most decorated gymnast in history had five words for Shiffrin.
“GOATED so excited for you!!” Biles wrote.
Biles is widely considered the greatest of all time in gymnastics. For Biles to call Shiffrin a GOAT means a lot coming from her.
On top of that, Biles also shared Shiffrin’s post on the former’s Instagram stories. She added a caption that read, “freaking rockstar!! So proud of you!!”
Biles knows a thing or two about taking center stage in the Olympics. In three Summer Games appearances, the 28-year-old has 11 Olympic medals, including seven golds.
Shiffrin’s 2026 Olympics have now come to a close after her third and final event. She made sure to end on a high note, reminding the entire world that she is still one of the best in what she does.
