Caitlin Clark remains one of the most popular athletes in the world. Even with her season cut short due to a right groin injury, she has remained one of the most talked-about players in sports. From helping the league set attendance and viewership records to sparking national conversations around women’s basketball, Clark’s impact has carried well beyond the WNBA. Despite her absence on the court, her influence continues to be felt across sports and culture.

On Sunday, Clark was again in the headlines after her name surfaced during the NFL matchup between the New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers. As fans watched the game unfold, one of the league’s biggest stars found a way to bring Clark into the spotlight with his choice of footwear.

On Sunday, a footwear artist revealed that Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs would be sporting a one-of-a-kind tribute to Clark, wearing a cleat inspired by Kobe V Proto Caitlin Clark Edition.

“My boy @stefondiggs with the custom Kobe V @caitlinclark22 inspired colorway today against Carolina,” the artist shared on social media.

The custom design, released back in January, sold out in minutes and was built as a Caitlin Clark edition, blending the iconic Kobe Bryant silhouette with colorways inspired by the Fever guard.

The Patriots eventually blew out the Panthers 41-12, with Drake Maye (203 yards and two touchdowns) and Diggs (101 yards and six receptions) leading the charge. Meanwhile, Clark and the Fever battled it out at home in Game 4 of their WNBA playoffs series against the Las Vegas Aces, hoping to stay alive and force a fifth game.
