An impressive Wisconsin football target in the 2026 recruiting class has announced a commitment date in just two days.
Ben Duncum, a three-star defensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting class, has announced a commitment date for June 25th. The Texas native recently took official visits with Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Kansas State. Duncum had a productive visit with Wisconsin, however, the recruit appears to be locked into another program and likely will not land with the Badgers.
The talented defensive lineman is currently considered to be a favorite to land with the Kentucky Wildcats, who extended a scholarship in March. The Wisconsin football staff offered Duncum a scholarship weeks before Kentucky, but with playing time being a factor in the recruitment of the defender, the Badgers are likely not the team to beat anymore.
While the Wisconsin football program does not appear to be the potential front runner in the recruitment of Duncum anymore, the Badgers already have a significant defensive line class and a different attitude towards loading up the class.
Wisconsin previously landed commitments from three-stars Djidjou Bah and Arthur Scott along the defensive line before fellow three-star Carmelow Reed flipped to Ole Miss. The Badgers are content with Bah and Scott, and while adding another defensive lineman seems possible, Duncum is likely not the person.
The Kentucky Wildcats currently do not have another defensive line commitment in the 2026 class, which would mean Duncum would be the potential lone commitment at the position. Along with this, Duncum would also have a faster route to the field with the Wildcats who have a need for defensive linemen and limited bodies. The Wisconsin football program could still land Duncum, but with how his recruitment has recently trended the Badgers will likely not see a hat put on during the commitment ceremony.
