Nevada will have to wait a little longer to see the Little League championship come along.

On Sunday, the Summerlin South Little League team was defeated by Taiwan 7-0 in the Little League World Series championship game.

The story of the game was Taiwan taking advantage of Nevada’s mistakes, particularly on the mound.

Pitcher Luke D’Ambrosio had a rough day with his control, throwing four wild pitches and an error that brought in a run for Taiwan. He threw 85 pitches by the end of the fourth inning, resulting in a pitching change for Nevada. From there, Taiwan dominated, blowing the doors off in the fifth inning for five runs that effectively put the dagger into Summerlin South’s chances.

Also working against Summerlin South was the excellent work of Taiwan pitcher Lin Chin-Tse.

Chin-Tse was working on a perfect game until Garrett Gallegos broke up the attempt with a one-out single in the fifth inning. Unfortunately, Nevada could not do anything with the three hits they got on Taiwan, as excellent defense lead to two double plays to sink them.

It is unfortunate for Summerlin South, as their dream run in the Little League World Series ends in heartbreak.
