TCU Baseball Drops Another to Kansas

Another rough day at the plate saw TCU drop their second game in a row to Kansas 8-4. The Horned Frogs left nine players on base and were unable to capitalize in critical situations. 

After TCU stranded the bases loaded in the top of the first, the Jayhawks opened up the scoring with a Jake English sac fly to make it 1-0. The Frogs had a nice response in the fourth via a two-run shot from Sam Myers to give TCU a 2-1 lead. He and Ryder Robinson each hit their first career home run on Saturday. Robinson's home run came in the eighth.

The fifth and sixth innings saw Kansas slowly pull away. John Nett hit a triple to center to tie the game, and the next batter, Kodey Shojinaga, doubled to give them the lead. 

It was a rough outing for Kole Klecker, who went 5.1 innings surrendering eight hits on five runs. He gave up back-to-back home runs to end his day.

There was an opportunity for TCU to get back into the game with the bases loaded and no outs in the top of the seventh but only salvaged a run. After a tremendous start to the season offensively, the Frogs have hit a wall scoring just five runs on eight hits in two games. 

They'll have a chance to salvage a game this series tomorrow at noon. Braeden Sloan will toe the rubber for TCU.
