Team Vitality cruises to IEM Dallas crown

Team Vitality swept MOUZ 3-0 on Sunday in the grand final of the Intel Extreme Masters Dallas event.

As the winners, Team Vitality earned $125,000. Runner-up MOUZ made $50,000.

Team Vitality opened with a 13-11 win on Dust II, followed by a 13-9 outcome on Mirage. The 13-8 victory on Inferno clinched the championship.

Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut of France recorded match highs with 59 kills and plus-24 kill-to-deaths differential. Teammate Robin "ropz" Kool of Estonia had 48 kills and a plus-9 K-D ratio, while William "mezii" Merriman of the United Kingdom had a plus-5 K-D and 47 kills.

Lotan "Spinx" Giladi of Israel was the lone Mouz competitor with a positive K-D ratio with a plus-4 and 53 kills.

The $300,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event began with 16 teams divided into two double-elimination groups. The group winners clinched playoff semifinal berths.

The group runners-up entered the quarterfinals as high seeds, and the two third-place teams moved into the quarterfinals as low seeds. The other five teams in each group were eliminated.

All matches in the group stage and the playoffs were best-of-three except for the grand final on Sunday, which was best-of-five.
