The Tennessee Vols have their QB of the future in Greensboro, NC five-star QB Faizon Brandon. The talented signal caller is the crown jewel of Josh Heupel's 2026 class and serves as the likely heir apparent at the QB position for his offense.
That likelihood of future success was highlighted this week at the Elite 11 camps in Los Angeles. Brandon was in attendance along with the other top QB recruits across the nation. He put on a show, earning praise from many observers in attendance.
That includes On3 Sports' Charles Power, who gave Brandon his superlative of "Most Upside".

Power noted that "[t]he fact Brandon, who is one of the youngest Elite 11 Finalists, was able to perform well despite room for growth points to his untapped potential."
Brandon is indeed one of the youngest competitors and top QB recruits in the country, as he turned 17 earlier this month. You wouldn't know it from his play though. He was 19-22 for 3 touchdowns and an interception in 7 on 7 drills at the camp.
One of the aspects you want from a player is room for growth and the tools to reach that potential. Almost no high school QB is ready to go and dominate as a true freshman, but rather they develop into it. Having elite traits already on display with another couple of gears of untapped potential to work into is what coaches hope to gain when they recruit and land a quarterback.
As such, the Vols' future QB managed to leave the impression that he fits that bill, which is a great thing for Tennessee in the years to come.
