Tennessee Vols receive exciting recruiting update on 2026 five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys
Barbara Gauntt/Clarion Ledger / USA TODAY NETWORK

The Tennessee Vols' biggest remaining 2026 recruiting target is easily five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys.

Keys, 6-foot-3/180 lbs from Hattiesburg, MS, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 1 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 6 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

The dynamic wide receiver has been committed to the LSU Tigers since March, but Tennessee -- along with programs like Texas A&M and Miami -- has continued to pursue Keys.

With only a few months to go in this recruiting battle (Keys is expected to sign with a school during the December signing period), it appears to be the Vols that have the best chance of flipping the five-star recruit.

On3's Steve Wiltfong reported Thursday that Tennessee "has the momentum" in the battle for Keys as we head into the fall months.

Wiltfong also noted that both LSU and Tennessee feel about where they stand in the battle for Keys, but his "intel" currently favors the Vols.

Earlier this month, it was reported that LSU recently "restructured" Keys' NIL package. It's unclear how that development will factor into his final decision.

It's worth pointing out that Keys has an NIL deal with Adidas. And Tennessee, of course, recently announced that the program is moving to Adidas starting in 2026. That's certainly something that could work in Tennessee's favor as they continue to pursue Keys.

Recruiting is as unpredictable as ever in the NIL era. Tennessee appears to be in a good spot for Keys, but we'll see what happens when it comes time for him to make a final decision.
