Branding himself as the new face of boxing, Terence Crawford may find himself as the new face of sports globally, according to an iconic sports analyst.
Rivalling both Oleksandr Usyk and Naoya Inoue for the moniker as the face of global boxing, Terence Crawford certainly made a lock-tight case earlier this month with his win over Canelo Alvarez.
And achieving his third undisputed championship reign in a staggering third separate division, Crawford has been backed to take over the sporting zeitgeist.
So much so, in fact, a veteran boxing commentator and analyst has claimed Crawford is set to rival sporting stars including Michael Jordan and Los Angeles Lakers megastar LeBron James if he keeps in his stunning vein.
Improving to 42-0 as a professional in his emphatic win over Canelo, the victory over the Mexican star has been tipped as the coming-out performance in the mainstream career of Crawford.
And as far as veteran color commentator Max Kellerman is concerned — who was front and center at the clash — claimed Crawford is approaching the likes of both Jordan and James when it comes to global success and recognition.
“What this generation is going to feel, if he (Terence Crawford) never loses, if he retires after a fight or two, and he hasn’t lost, is what generations — and I mentioned this on the broadcast — feel about Michael Jordan,” Kellerman said on Inside The Ring.

“I lived through Michael Jordan — you can’t tell me anyone is better than Jordan,” Kellerman explained. “What this generation is gonna feel about LeBron (James) — 20 years from now when a guy comes along who — ‘is he better than LeBron?’ You’re not gonna be able to tell these kids anything. That’s Crawford for this era.”
If the Nebraska native is to go down in history with the likes of Jordan and James, his unbeaten record is paramount to joining and maintaining the discourse.
However, with his immediate fighting future yet to be thrashed out, Crawford has been urged to take consideration when it comes to taking on an emerging British star who similarly boasts an undefeated record.
Furthermore, the Omaha pugilist has been urged to take stock of a potential historic challenge to cement his legacy in the ring for the rest of time.
