The Longhorns suffered a one-spot drop in the AP Poll’s Top 25 on Sunday after an extremely underwhelming 16-13 overtime victory over the Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington on Saturday night.
Although the Longhorns won the game, it’s obvious that the performance did not impress the AP voters at all, as Texas now sits at No. 22 after entering the game ranked No. 21. and only scoring one touchdown.
Texas’ performance was not the only surprising one, though, as seven other ranked teams lost on Saturday.
Some of the more notable losses include a No. 5-ranked Ole Miss losing to Georgia, No. 7 Texas Tech losing to Arizona State, No. 10 LSU losing to Vanderbilt, No. 11 Tennessee losing to Alabama and No. 20 USC losing to Notre Dame.
As Texas now sits at No. 22, it will head to Starkville to face the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday.
