Texas Jumps Two Spots to No. 20 in Week 10 AP Poll

After an exciting, but scary, game on Saturday, the Texas Longhorns have moved up in the AP Poll. The 45-38 overtime win against Mississippi State, with some additional chaos around the nation, was enough for Texas to see a small bump.

The Longhorns now sit at No. 20 in the rankings, bunched between No. 19 Missouri and No. 21 Michigan.

The most crucial pieces in Texas moving up were the losses that LSU and South Florida suffered. As Texas entered the week ranked No. 22, LSU was just ahead at No. 20, and South Florida was a little higher at No. 18.

The Tigers suffered an embarrassing loss in Death Valley to No. 3 Texas A&M, which beat LSU 49-25. The Bulls, on the other hand, weren’t able to overcome Memphis’ home atmosphere, losing the game 34-31.

No. 15 Missouri and No. 13 Oklahoma also suffered losses on Saturday. The Tigers lost quarterback Beau Pribula to a leg injury late in the game and weren’t able to work their way back for a victory, losing to Vanderbilt 17-10 in Nashville. Meanwhile, the Sooners had the advantage of playing at home, but Ole Miss was too much for the Sooners to handle, as they lost 34-26.

However, both the Tigers and the Sooners now sit ahead of Texas at No. 19 and No. 18, respectively.
