There are times when even a perfect visit or discussion isn't enough to sway someone's mind. The Texas Longhorns gave their best shot to land four-star offensive tackle Samuel Roseborough this past weekend, but it simply wasn't enough.
Roseborough was deciding between Texas, Florida State, and Ohio State. But in the end, it was Texas A&M who nabbed a headlining talent for its 2026 recruiting class.
“Next chapter: College Station. Let’s build something special. GigEm!", he shared.

On3 reported there was "buzz regarding the Longhorns" entering last weekend's visit, but it's telling that something was off in their pitch to Roseborough that he made his decision so quickly. Not 72 hours removed from his visit, every program found out his intentions.
He had previously taken visits to Texas A&M and Florida State in the weeks leading up to June 13. The No. 26 overall player in Florida stands 6-foot-4 and 285 pounds, so he may move from tackle to guard at the next level.
Texas is still in the mix for a few highly-sought-after tackles, so we'll see if this miss ends up being significant by the fall.
