The Texas Longhorns are expected to be in line to pick up commitments from a handful of the best recruits in the 2026 class in the coming days.

However, the recruiting insiders from around the country are currently out on them, landing one of their top targets.

Five-star athlete and Louisiana native, Lamar Brown, is expected to announce his commitment on July 10. He narrowed his list of around 40 offers down to four programs, and will be choosing between LSU, Texas A&M, Miami and of course, Texas.

While there had been some buzz pointing to the Longhorns being in position to land him, On3's recruiting prediction machine has the Tigers of LSU  as the favorites to land him.

However, there is still a lot that can happen, as insiders at 247Sports have not reached a consensus on where he will end up.

247Sports currently has two different predictions for where Brown will end up, with one from February picking LSU and one from last month picking Texas A&M.

Regardless of where he ends up, that program is gaining an extremely versatile player in Brown, who can play on either the offensive or defensive line at the next level. In fact, he is such a good athlete that Tulane initially offered him in a capacity that would allow him to play both offense and defense.

While it may be enticing, Brown did tell On3 he plans to play offensive line at the next level.

A nice consolation prize for Texas is that they are the favorites to land the nation's No. 1 offensive tackle, Felix Ojo.
